WORKSHOPS FOR EDUCATORS
Sing and Dance Your Way Through the Day!
Creative Movement and Music for Early Childhood Educators
Children are naturally drawn to song and dance, and for good reason: they derive many physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional benefits from them. You don't need a background in dance or music to nourish children with creative songs and movements throughout your day. In this active, hands-on (or rather, feet-on!) workshop, you will learn about the many neurological and physiological benefits of music and movement for young children. You will learn and practice group dances, movement songs, singing games, and creative movement games that you can integrate into your daily routine with children right away.
Come ready to play!
Tell Me a Story
Storytelling and Simple Puppetry for Early Childhood Educators
Children love stories, they need stories, and humans are storytelling creatures. Storytelling can bring an enchanting and peaceful interlude into your day, and it's easier than you think. In this workshop, learn how oral storytelling, with simple puppet figures found in your home or school, contributes to children's vocabulary, literacy, critical thinking, creativity, narrative thinking, and socio-emotional skills. You will watch a puppet story and have the opportunity to work in small groups to prepare and try out a story yourself. Absolutely no experience required; all that is needed is an open mind and a willingness to try something new.

Creative Arts workshops in movement, dance, song, theater, improv, and puppetry can be tailored to your program's needs.
